Who we are
This website is run by Matt Richardson, trading as RenderForge Studio, a 3D animation studio based in Worcestershire, UK. Matt is the controller of any personal information collected through this site, under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Questions about this notice or your information: hello@renderforge.studio.
What we collect
- When you use the contact form: your name, email address, company (if you give it) and your message.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to include.
We don't run analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't build profiles of visitors.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies and doesn't use any tracking technology. The videos are shown as still images until you press play. Only then does the video load from YouTube, in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From that point YouTube (Google) may store information on your device under its own privacy policy. You can also watch the films directly on YouTube instead.
Why we use it
We use your details only to read and reply to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to deliver that work. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We never sell your information or use it for marketing mailings.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers, who process information only on our behalf:
- Web3Forms receives what you enter in the contact form and delivers it to us by email.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and handles our email routing. Like any web host, it processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- Google (Gmail) is where enquiry emails arrive and are stored.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to any work are deleted within 2 years. If we work together, related records are kept for as long as needed for the project and for accounting and tax purposes (normally 6 years).
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it to be transferred. Just email hello@renderforge.studio. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this notice, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
